The biennial franchisee conference for Papa Johns is always an exciting event to work on. As the Motion Lead for this account, I was responsible for managing multiple motion packages and a team of contractors. I was first tasked with adapting the approved visual identity for print assets into motion graphics for General Sessions (01). This included walk in loops, animated title cards, logo loops, alpha transitions, and the like. The graphics played across 7 LED screens including 2 return screens that backlit the presenters as they walked on stage.

During the second day of General Sessions the VP of International Markets wanted to have a couple International Executives come on stage to do a Late Night Talk Show-formatted interview. To give the crew time to retrofit the stage with the Talk Show furniture, I created an Opener (02) that also served as a walk-on for the VP. Featuring the home countries of each interviewee, the opener was a fun homage to the late night talk show format, the only difference is this one doesn't feature a single shot of New York City. The final image of the opener rests on what became the backdrop for our VP's segment.

In addition to the General Sessions package there was an Awards package for the second night of the show that a contractor largely took on, and a Pizza Competition package (03) that I had the opportunity to create the visual identity and motion for. In the early evening of the first night's festivities, PJs flew in some of its top performing makers from around the world to compete in a pizza making competition. Wanting to keep the core elements of their main branding, the client was looking for a gamified take on the PJs look. I drew inspiration from the textured, grunge aesthetic that was big at the time with sports graphics and layered on an arcade-style glitchiness that allowed the modern graphics to have a retro feel. Once the visid was approved, I began motion and created supplemental graphics for our Signage team to use.
